Mangaluru: District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai inspected the ongoing road work of Shirady Ghat, here on monday, and asked officials not to delay the work.

Speaking to reporters district in charge minister said the Shirady ghat on Mangaluru-Bengaluru highway is unlikely to be closed to traffic when the second phase of of concreting work is taken up.
Traffic would be allowed from June when the first phase of concreting a 13-km stretch of the highway between Maranahalli and Kempu Hole will be completed, Rai said.
The selection of contractor for the second phase of work for another 13-km stretch between Kempu Hole and Adda Hole is yet to be done. The work would be taken up without closing the traffic. The other 21-km stretch between Maranahalli and Gulagalale too would be taken up after selecting the contractor, he said.
