Quarry tragedy: Grief-stricken parents hospitalised

Bajpe :Vasu Shettigar-Seetha couple who have lost all their three daughters in the quarry mishap at Mijar Daddi near Edapadavu on Sunday July 20, and are  shattered and grief-stricken  were admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore on Monday July 21 morning.

Upon discharge  they were taken to Seetha’s parental home. The school where the couple’s children were studying  had declared a holiday on Monday as a mark of respect to the departed souls.

Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Department Gertrude Veigas, Mangalore Rural Child Development Officer Shyama, Block Education Officer Sudhaker, office bearers of DK District Padmashali Mahasabha and others visited the spot of the mishap as well as the residence of the deceased children and also their schools.
