Bantwal: A case has been registered against a man from Punacha alleging that he had  raped a teenaged girl in  a bus to Bangalore after kidnapping her while she was on way to the college.

The victim is a 17 year old  first PUC student of Bulerikate college and a resident of Pavalumoole in Punacha village.  The accused has been identified as Nithin, a local resident.

The girl who had left for college as usual on July 24 was reported missing  as she had  neither going to the college nor returned home. Her father had then lodged a complaint of missing in Vittal Police Station. The police who took up the investigation, traced the girl at the Bangalore bus stand on July 25 and have brought her back to Vittal on Saturday July 26.

It is being alleged that the accused raped her in the KSRTC sleeper coach  bus.  Police said a case of kidnap, rape  and caste abuse has been registered against the accused. The police have launched a search for him.
