Public meet on traffic flow sees lukewarm response

Mangaluru: A meeting called by the Mangaluru City Corporation and Police Department with the public to invite ideas on smooth functioning of traffic in the city on Monday January 18, saw a lukewarm response.

The meet was held at Town Hall here.

Addressing the small gathering, Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo said that at present there are only 27 traffic wardens in the city and for a city such as Mangaluru, a minimum of 200 wardens are required. Inviting ideas and feedback from the public and the Police Department, he said that action will be initiated to set things right in six months.

Mayor Jacintha Vijaya Alfred, ACP Uday Nayak, MCC Commissioner Gopalkrishna, Deputy Mayor Purushottham Chtrapur were present among others.
