Mangaluru: After two PU girls from a private college in Mangaluru went missing, the police had reportedly picked up a young Muslim boy who was allegedly in touch with the girls over social networking sites.
However, though the boy identified as Ahmed Nisar, a II PU student of another college was picked up by the police on February 2 for investigation, the case took a turn when the girls, on February 4 called up their relatives to inform about their whereabouts, adding that they had left on their own accord.
With this statement from the girls, Ahmed Nisar was released by the police. Initially the cops had charged Nisar of abducting the girls and had reportedly tortured him in custody.
With Nisar alleging that he was given electric shock in the name of ‘interrogation’, Mangaluru Police Commissioner M Chandrashekar has ordered a probe by ACP Central Thilakchandra.
Meanwhile, the two missing girls were brought back to Mangaluru from Kerala on Thursday night. It is said that the girls had left their home in pursuit of better life!
