PU results: DK district shines bright with 91.49 pc

Mangaluru: The twin districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi have done it again by bagging the first two slots in the PUC results this year.

While Dakshina Kannada bagged the first place with 91.49 percent, Udupi stood second with 90.67 per cent. The neighbouring Kodagu district is third with 83.94 percent while Chikkodi stands last in the state with a meagre 52.20 per cent.

The total pass percentage of the state is 59.56 per cent.

At the state level, 6,85,713 students attended the examinations that were conducted between March 1 and 17. A total of 4,08,421 students have passed, while 68 colleges have bagged cent per cent results.

Three government colleges, 122 private colleges, three aided colleges, totaling to 118 colleges have got zero result.

The pass percentage stream-wise is as follows- Arts: 45.13 per cent; commerce: 63.64 per cent and science 67.48 per cent.

While 54,692 students bagged distinction in the state, 21,3611 secured first class marks. A total of 82,532 secured second class grades and 57,586 have secured the third slot.

Ududi district had bagged the first place last year and DK district had to settle for the second slot with 89.92 pc. However, this year the district made a massive comeback with 91.49 per cent. The district has been in the first position for three consecutive years between 2014-16.
