Protests to demand reinstatement of suspended student held at Vittal PU College

Mangaluru: Demanding reinstatement of a suspended student, a few college students of the Vittal Pre University College protested in the college premises here on Monday.

Mohammed Asfak had allegedly  pelted stones at students at participants of a student election victory  in which, according to police reports,  Kiran Raj was injured. Subsequently  Asfak was arrested and a case was registered. The college management had suspended Asfak for his misbehavior in the college, and this act was questioned by a few students, who boycotted classes and protested.

Later the  college management and the students had discussions mediated by  Bantwal ASP Rahul Kumar and Vittal SI Prakash Devadiga.

During the discussions, college management coordinator L N Kudur said that Asfak had failed in first PU exam, and was passed subsequently, based on humanitarian considerations, however, after misbehaving  again,  he was declared failed, and upon his parents request he was allowed to study in the college privately with a condition, that he would not involve himself in any  unwarranted activities.  The college was firm on his removal from the college because of repeated misdemeanors’.
Popular Front protests at  Bus stand:

The college management is doing injustice to Asfak,  as his life and education would be negatively impacted said the protesters.  Demanding justice for the student,  the Popular Front  of India Vittal zone protested in the evening at the service bus stand.  The protest was led by District Secretary Asfan B C Road. Vittal Zone President Vasim, leaders Muhamed Rizwan Kadambu, Nisaar Koodapadavu and others were present.
