Mangalore : A full-fledged IT Park which is proposed to be set up in Mangalore will change the general notion that IT and BT are the monopoly of Bangalore, said SR Patil, State Minister for Information Technology.
He was speaking at a function organized by the SCDCC Bank and Navodaya Grama Vikasa Charitable Trust at Loyola Hall of St Aloysius College here on June 16, Sunday to felicitate newly appointed ministers and newly elected MLAs of the district.
Continuing, Patil assured that greater employment opportunities will be generated in the IT field in Mangalore once the IT Park comes up.
Oscar Fernandes, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha Member, who presided over the function said the Congress is committed to fulfill its assurance to initiate steps towards the development of the co-operative sector.
MN Rajendra Kumar, Chairman of SCDCC Bank, who spoke, urge the elected representatives to assist the areca growers of the district in times of their need. He also stated that he has the confidence that the Gutka ban would not do much harm to the growers.
