Mangalore:The minister for fisheries Shri. Abhayachandra Jain called the progress review meeting of the fisheries dept. in the magistrate court hall of the dc office today.
The meeting focused on discussing the various issues related to the fishermen in the district.
In the meeting unavailability of the houses to fishermen of Bengre was brought to the notice of the gathering by MLA of Mangalore south constituency Shri. JR Lobo. He said, “Since the revenue dept. has not given the land ownership documents to the families, they have not been able to apply for the financial aid from the govt. hence he urged the dc to call a meeting in this regard and give justice to the affected families.”
DC N Prakash assured the appropriate action in regard to this and Minister Jain told fisheries dept. officials to follow up with the proceedings after the clearance from the revenue dept. and give the financial aid to the families.
The minister also gave instructions to the fisheries dept officials to raise the subsidy limits in various projects and include the same in the annual budget.
MLA Moideen Bava, ZP CEO Thulasi Maddineni and other officials of the fisheries dept. were present at the occasion.
