Moodabidri: Police personnel from Moodabidri station succeeded in arresting the main accused relating to the operation of an illegal slaughterhouse at Mudumarnadu here on Tuesday, July 5. The police have also seized three calves, a bull and a bike used by the accused after a raid.

Hussain is the prime accused who fell into the police’ net. His associates Naval from Gundukallu, Rameez and Iqbal are reportedly absconding. Hussain used to look after 4 acres of land belonging to a local and also running a poultry farm. It is learnt that he was running illegal cattle business from his home and built a slaughterhouse behind his house.

The residents of the area grew suspicious after their cows went missing for the last few days. A complaint was registered at Moodabidri police station in this regard. Acting on the tip-off, the police raided his house and arrested him.
