Mangaluru: Renowned educational institution Prestige International School inaugurated its new campus at Jeppinamogaru here on Saturday January 9.
Inaugurating the new campus, Chancellor of Nitte University N Vinay University said it is not important whether an individual is a Hindu or a Muslim, but what matters is being a good human who has respect for all. He lauded the infrastructure and the facilities at the school and wished that the institution produces assets to the nation.
Mangaluru South MLA JR Lobo said that the Prestige Group has made Mangaluru proud and wished that the new school increases the intrinsic value of the city. He gave a call to maintain the excellence achieved every academic year.
MLC Ivan D’Souza said that Mangaluru is perhaps the only city in the country to have as many as five medical colleges in a radius of 10kms, 15 engineering and about 200 other educational institutions.
“Prestige International School is a feather to the glory of the city,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada AB Ibrahim urged the institution management to reserve atleast 10 per cent of the seats to children from poor financial background so that they too enjoy world class education.
Ibrahim maintained that it is not necessary that only English medium students hog the limelight as there are students from Kannada medium backgrounds who have been achieving great success.
Owner of the Prestige Group Hyder Ali assured that the school would continue to be an inspiration. He thanked the State government and other associations for their support. Meanwhile, Ali announced the launch of Prestige Pre-University College in the same campus adding it would be functional from June 16, this year.
