Mangaluru: A prohibitory order by the Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar has announced that VHP international working president Dr Pravin Togadia has been banned from entering the city for one week from Monday January 18 to Sunday January 24.

The order bans Dr Togadia from entering and attending any meeting in Mangaluru police commissionerate limits until January 24.
The order has been issued under Section 144(3) of CrPC.

In a press note, the police commissioner said that there was reliable information that Dr Togadia would be attending meetings in Mangaluru on January 20. “The prohibitory order was issued keeping in view his ability to make provocative speeches which can disturb the peace and tranquillity of the city,” the press note states.

It is learnt that Pravin Togadia was supposed to attend a meeting at Sanghaniketan organized by Bajrang Dal on January 20.
