Mangaluru: Senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary, who always remained vocal of his respect to an unbiased and able leader like SM Krishna, on Monday lamented the episode of the latter cutting off all ties with the Congress party.
In a news conference, Poojary, however, opined that Krishna should not have quit the party, instead should have fought the evil.
“I would have joined him in his fight against the evil,” said Poojary adding that it was true that Krishna was sidelined by the Congress party and such actions had hurt him. He also took the opportunity to urge senior leaders like Jaffer Sharief and Prakash Hukkeri to not quit the party.
“Sonia Gandhi was helpless in accepting Krishna’s resignation. However, I would urge Krishna not to join any other political party, for he would repent quitting Congress one day. I am sure, Sonia Gandhi will welcome him back into Congress folds and encourage him to start his second innings,” said Poojary also cautioning Krishna of a conspiracy of the opposition parties to finish him politically after drawing strength from him.
Meanwhile, continuing his tirade against Siddaramaiah, Poojary said that the CM has been blinded by power.
Billing off Siddaramaiah as a ‘curse’ for the party, Poojary said that the Congress will have better future only if Siddaramaiah quits the party.
