Mangaluru: Former Union Minister B. Janardhan Poojary continued his ire against Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa on Wednesday, after the Speaker told the media that he did not know Poojary.

“I do not know ‘which’ Poojary demanded my resignation. I don’t even know the ‘year’ when Poojary entered politics, Thimmappa on Tuesday told the media.

In reply to the statement, Poojary told the reporters here in the city that Speaker suffers from memory loss. “I had given him ticket to contest elections in 1987, when I was the president of AICC”, he told the presspersons here at the Congress office.

Poojary also shot back at the speaker saying the duty of the speaker is to ensure discipline and proper functioning in the assembly. He is not a member of the opposition party, he added.

Kallige Taranath, Vijayakumar Shetty, Arun Coelho and Hari Krishna Bantwal were present at the press meet.
