Mangaluru: Former union minister B Janardhan Poojary visited Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara temple and offered prayer on Sunday, June 30.
Poojary’s visit to Kudroli temple has gained significance as he had announced that he would not visit Kudroli temple, if the Congress candidate Mithun Rai would be defeated in the Lok Sabha election. Meanwhile, he had also announced that he would not visit Mangaladevi temple too if Mithun tastes defeat in the election. Unfortunately, Mithun was defeated against BJP’s candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Though it is not confirmed, a few sources said that Poojary reportedly had a dream and in his dream, the presiding deity of Gokarnanatheshwara Temple commanded that he should come to the temple!
When Mithun Rai was defeated, mediapersons attempted to take his statement, but he denied to give any statement. The family members of Poojary also claimed that he was taking rest and he was not interested in speaking to the media.
However, Poojary visited Kudroli temple on Sunday noon and offered prayer. It was his maiden visit to Kudroli temple after he made a statement of not visiting the temple.
Former MLA Vijay Kumar Shetty, who also accompanied Poojary while he visited the temple informed Newskarnataka.com that Poojary did not seek support from anybody while walking in the premises of the temple. Though Poojary always maintained a clean shave, on Sunday he was seen donning a long white beard.
