Police in Karnataka conducted a raid on the residence of Naresh Soni, the owner of Hema Jewellers in Kambali Bazaar, Ballari, on Sunday, resulting in the seizure of assets worth Rs 7.6 crore. The confiscated items comprised Rs 5.60 crore in cash, 3 kg of gold, and 103 kg of silver jewellery, including 68 silver bars.
Naresh Soni was taken into custody for interrogation as police suspect the seized assets to be linked to a Hawala transaction. A case has been filed by the authorities to further investigate the alleged transactions.
