Mangaluru: In a bid to upgrade the police patrolling in City, the state government will sanction 25 Ertiga patrol cars along with separate tabs for control room and police personnel, disclosed State Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar on Monday.

Addressing the media, he said the tabs will be provided to facilitate the location identification of the patrol cars and ensure speedy deployment of additional police personnel whenever the situation calls for it. “This module is already functional in Bengaluru and we are replicating this in other cities too with an annual grant of Rs. 15 to 100 Crore per city,” he added.

Taking a cue from Mysuru and Bengaluru traffic management system, steps are being taken to streamline the rest of the state on similar lines, Parameshwar said. “It took us three years to implement this in Bengaluru and similarly Mangaluru will see an effective transition in phases”, he added.
