Bantwal: A day after a man was attacked by a group of men in Farangipet for speaking to a woman of another community, the Bantwal Rural police nabbed four men believed to have been involved in the attack.

The four men have been identified as Ummar Farook, Mohammed Arafa, Iqbal C and Mohammed Afiz, all residents of Farangipet.

On the afternoon of July 29, the man, Suresh crossed paths with the woman, a resident of Udupi and struck up a conversation. The woman is a former resident of Farangipet and hence knew Suresh. As she was in town for medical treatment, Suresh offered to drop her in his car. A group of local men objected to Suresh and the woman speaking to each other and picked a fight with him which soon escalated into an attack.
