Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Police Commissioner has denied permission for ‘Mangaluru Chalo’, a massive bike rally organised by the BJP Yuva Morcha on September 7 at Nehru Maidan.
Police commissioner T R Suresh in a press release, has stated that as Mangaluru City is a communal sensitive zone and keeping in the mind the several untoward incidents in the past, permission had been denied for the rally with an intention to retain peace and in the best interest of the public.
In the Mangalore chalo rally, which will start on Sunday, youth Morcha activists from all the 30 districts of the state will participate. Party state president B S Yeddyurappa will also be joining the mega rally organised demanding banning PFI, KDF and SDPI organisations, alleging that the activists of these organisations are behind the murder of Hindu activists.
