Mangaluru: The Mangaluru police cracked the gruesome murder in which a man’s mutilated body was found in a drainage channel at Chokkabettu near Surathkal Krishnapura road on June 2, with the arrest of two persons.

The arrested identified as Gowdappa Gowda Sannagowdra (55), a resident of Hanagunda Taluk, Bagalkote and Hullappa Basappa Soodi (28) of Kustagi Taluk, Koppala district were acquainted with the deceased Mariappa.

The accused, it is gathered were staying with Mariappa. Mariappa had lent some money to the accused Gowdappa Gowda, and a dispute arising out of money matter led to his gruesome murder.

The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.
