Mangaluru: Mangaluru City Police have arrested three accused for creating fake documents of a bus by tampering its chassis and registration number and obtaining loan from the financial institutions.

The arrested accused are Naveen Norohana(41) from Ulaibettu, Vincent Sequira (59) from Bendoor and Wilfred Mascarenhas from Neermarga.

The police had received a tip off that a private bus (KA-19 B-4866) was plying from Mangaluru to Moodushedde with a fake registration number. When the police waylaid the vehicle, it was found that the vehicle was operating illegally and that the trio had tampered/ inter changed the chassis and registration number of two buses.

Naveen Noronha has confessed to police of creating fake documents and obtaining the loan from banks with help of Vincent and Wilfred.

Police also seized two trucks and a JCB which have been kept ready using same technique. The total worth of the seized property estimated around Rs 81.09 lakh.
