Police arrest ‘Blade Sadiq’ in connection to Puttur shootout case

Puttur: Local police have arrested the prime suspect in a November 26 shootout case through an operation that was conducted in Puttur on Saturday, November 30.

The accused has been identified as Sadiq alias ‘Blade Sadiq, a native of Madikeri.

The operation was conducted by a team of local cops led by the Puttur Deputy Superintendent.

After the arrest, Sadiq was produced at a local court on the same day itself.

The case pertains to the alleged assault that was perpetrated against the victim, Abdul Qader over a financial matter. The victim sustained two bullet wounds in the chest and head. A total of four assailants reportedly fired at Qader. Two other accused, identified in the victim’s complaint as Sadiq and Haneef, are still at large and police have launched a manhunt to nab them.
