Mangaluru: In a praiseworthy move, the Modi government has responded positively to the letter of a boy from Manjeshwar, who in his letter brought to the notice of the PM the condition of the worn out road in his village and also urged him to take action to get the road repaired.

In swift response, the Kerala government received an order from the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) to get the road repaired immediately.

Ashwal Shetty, a first year degree student at Sharada Vidyalaya College, residing in Kodibail Manjeshwar, had written to the PMO seeking repair of roads in Mangalpady and had explained about the frequent accidents due to bad road.

Learning that the Prime Minister responds to the woes of the common civilians, Ashwal had addressed a detailed letter to him through post last month. In a swift action, the PMO issued direction to the Kerala Vidhana Sabha office to take necessary action, which in turn ordered the Mangalpady panchayat to initiate road repair work. The work has now been started.

It is learnt that Ashwal’s family has no connection with any political party. His father is a fruit vendor and his mother is a housewife. The PM’s action has brought a smile on all the locals of Mangalpady.
