Mangaluru: Senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary said on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had promised to implement ”One Rank One Pension” has forgotten his promise.
Speaking at a press meet, Poojary said, ”The ex-serviceman gave his life due to the confusion surrounding “One Rank One Pension”. He had informed the Defence Minister through a letter that he would commit suicide so that other soldiers would get justice”.
Poojary further questioned why Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi was not allowed to meet the family members of the deceased soldiers at the hospital.
On Union Minister V K Singh’s comment on the mental state of the deceased soldier, Poojary urged the Union Minister to resign immediately. “V K Singh should either resign or should be expelled from the party,” said Poojary.
The senior Congressman also said that PM Modi is not able to fulfill the promises he made during the elections. Let the PM accept the fact that he is unable to fulfill promises,” he said.
Congress leaders Kallige Taranath, Arun Coelho and others were present.
