Moodbidri: In his last radio address to the nation, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minsiter mentioned Moodbidri Prasanna Kakunje’s name for suggesting to him that he create awareness about road safety and the importance of safety measures.
Dr Prasanna Kakunje had written about road accidents, traffic rules and road safety to the Prime Minister, and had suggested the prime minister create awareness among the public.
The PM said he was shocked when he analysed the statistics about road accidents – every minute one accident takes place; every 4 minutes one person dies in road accidents.
He said, “We have been receiving advise from people of the country. Several people have been writing to me that I should speak on road safety to create awareness about it”. Modi mentioned names of two people and Pune and Bengaluru and also mentioned Prasanna Kakunje from Karnataka’s Moodbidri who had suggested that he create awareness about road safety measures.
Prasanna serves in the Ayurveda hospital in Gajigara Palke in Moodbidri. Hailing from Kakunje Dr Prasanna completed his education in Koppa.
