Bantwal: Former chairman of Bantwal Urban Development Authority (BUDA) Pius Rodrigues has been named as the director of Karnataka State Pollution Control Board with immediate effect.An official communication issued by the state governor named Pius Rodrigues from here, Suresh Gurappa Talavara from Belagavi, Venkatarama from Mysuru as directors of the pollution control board.

Rodrigues will serve as the director for a tenure of three years.

An active member of the Congress party, Rodrigues is also involved in social service activities.
