Mangalore: An eco-educational and tourism park promoted by the District Administration and Pilikula Nisargadhama under the initiative of Jungle Lodges and Resorts Limited was inaugurated on Friday February 7.














After inaugurating the Pilikula Nisargadhama Resort, RV Deshpande, State Minister for Tourism and Higher Education “If tourism is developed in the country plenty of job opportunities can be made. This in turn will increase the revenue flow to the government.”
He said that around Rs 4crore has been invested towards this project and the central government has also sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the development of tourism in the coastal region of Karnataka.
“A vision group has been appointed to research on the development of tourism in the district and as per their analysis in the coming 10 years a lot of revenue as well as employment will be generated. The only issue in Dakshina Kannada is that it is under CRZ zone, which makes it difficult to entail tourism project although measures will be taken, he assured.
State Minister for Forest, Eenvironment and Ecology Ramanatha Rai and Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo also spoke on the occasion.
S Krishnamurthy, Executive Director of Pilikula Society, Anur Reddy Managing Director, AB Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner and others were present on the occasion.
The Pilikula Nisargadhama is located just about 15 km away from Mangalore, within the Moodushedde village.It has an amusement park, biological park, a gold course, a lake, an arboretum, a science centre, a heritage village and an artisan village.
