Phyllis Maria DCosta Installed as President of PTAT

July 7 marked the virtual installation ceremony of Port Town Advanced Toastmasters Club with the baton of authority being passed on from TM Lyra Pinto to Maria Phyllis D’Costa, DTM. In the investiture Ceremony woven around the theme of Infinity, TM Lyra Pinto, in her capacity as Area Director, administered the Oath of Office to Maria Phyllis D’Costa, DTM (President), Shivani Baliga, DTM (VPEd), TM Radhika Adappa (VPM), TM Trisha D’Souza (VPPR), Malini Hebbar, DTM (Secretary), TM Anu Sharma (Treasurer) and TM Beau Paul Conroy (SAA).

The Chief Guest of the evening Dr Meera Krishnappa, the MD of Solutions for Holistic Educational Excellence, Training and Active Learning (SHEETAL), spoke in appreciation of the progressive trend that she had witnessed among the Toastmasters and remarked that such a stand was the need of the hour. She also threw light on the need to look at the brighter side of the pandemic which taught us life-saving lessons.

TM Amith Ananda, the Division L Director (DVD) inducted the new members and reinstated TM Bhaskar Kiran.

Beau Conroy Paul opened the Meeting and Hilda Fernandes invoked the blessings of the Lord. Shivani Baliga welcomed the gathering.

Anu Sharma introduced the Chief Guest; Geeta Pereira introduced the Area Director; Vidya Shenoy, DTM introduced the DVD; Savitha Salian, DTM introduced Maria Phyllis D’Costa; Amitha Shetty, Malini Mukund, and Sophia Zacharias introduced the new members Hisrar Tallani, Dr. Reshma Amin, Lugina Miranda, Geraldine Rodrigo, Praveen Nayak and Dr. Ann Thomas.

Radhika Adappa presented the report of the club for the year 2020-21, Malini Hebbar introduced the theme, Melora Pais and Jan Noronha conducted fellowship activities.
