Photographers hold protest rally for fulfillment of various demands

Mangaluru: Professional photographers, including videographers in Dakshina Kannada took out a rally from Town Hall to Deputy Commissioner’s office as a part of state-wide protest for fulfillment of various demands on Saturday, July 2.

The demands of Karnataka Photographers’ Association are establishment of photography academy, health and life insurance for photographers, monthly pension, low-interest rate financing for photographers, construction of one ‘Chaya Bhavan’ in all districts of the State, Provident Fund, establishment of government photography schools and education to children of photographers under RTE.

President of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada Photographers Assocation, Jagannatha Shetty, spoke to member photographers and videographers after reaching DC office entrance. They raised slogans and later submitted a memorandum to the DC.

There are over 3,500 professional photographers in Udupi-Dakshina Kannada districts. A protest rally will be held in Udupi too where a memorandum to the DC will be submitted.
