Uppinangadi: A gas tanker toppled after the driver lost control in Kadambu near Perne on Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway No 66 on December 5 forenoon.Fortunately there was no gas leak from the tanker which could have caused an inferno, thereby averting a major fire accident.

The tanker heading towards Bengaluru toppled near Sri Rama Bhajan Mandir in Kadambu after the driver lost control. Driver of the gas tanker escaped with minor injuries.

It may be recalled that eight persons were killed when a bullet tanker carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) had overturned with the gas leakage fuelling an inferno engulfing the vehicle and neighboring buildings at Perne on the Mangalore-Bangalore National Highway, on 9 April 2013 in a similar incident.
