Mangaluru: A bid of three to pick some pepper corn from the creeper in the backyard of the house rendered them death, at Ujjodi in Mangalore on Sunday.

The deceased are couple Valerian Lobo-Hamzy Lobo and their acquaintance Sandeep.

It is said that Valerian (55) was holding the iron ladder leading to the pepper corns while Sandeep (21) climbed on it. However, accidentally, Sandeep had a fall from the ladder and came in touch with hi-voltage wire.

Valerian who was holding the ladder too was electrocuted. Hamzy who ran to rescue the two too died in the bid.
The two children of Valerian and Hamzy have been orphaned in this incident.

While Valerian was mechanic at NMPT, his wife was employed in Roshni Nilaya School of Social Work and Sandeep was a waiter.
