Mangaluru: Former Union Minister and veteran congress leader B. Janaradhana Poojary on Thursday reiterated his stand to handover the mysterious death of IAS officer D.K Ravi to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
“People will never trust the report of Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is now investigating the case. Even if the CID comes out with the truth, no one is going to believe it. Hence, Chief Minister Siddaramaih should hand over the case to the CBI immediately, Mr. Poojary told the reporters here in the city.
The former union minister wanted to know on why the chief minister is reluctant to hand over the case. “Parents of late DK Ravi have come on streets demanding CBI inquiry. The public is protesting. But, why the CM is afraid to hand over the case. It’s the duty of Chief Minister to listen to the people; he said and sought the interruption of Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi.
An upright IAS officer has been killed in the state. It’s unfortunate that we failed to protect him. If the Chief Minister does not hand over the case to the CBI, the Congress will collapse in the state as miserably as in New Delhi. Siddaramaih should respect the voice of the people. It’s the only way to avoid suspicion, he mentioned.
