Bantwal : A Peace Committee meeting was convened at the Bantwal Town Police station on January 11, Saturday ahead of the Eid Milad and Makara Sankranthi festivals which fall on the same day this year. The meeting was attended by police officials as well as leaders of different communities.

Bantwal Circle Inspector Rajashekhar D Mistri who addressed the meeting sought public co-operation in the police department endeavour to maintain peace. He also suggested that banners that are put up for the festival should not have any provocative content and that the organisations must take up the responsibility of removing the banners once the festival is over.

SI Kabbal Raj, prominent citizens BK Idinabba Kalladka, Ramanatha, Ibrahim Manchi, Charan, Badruddin Keyyur and others participated.
