Mangalore, Mar 25: B Janardhana Poojary, Congress candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency has said that the unemployment problem in the district can be solved if the PCPIR project is implemented.

Speaking to reporters at the election office of the Congress on Tuesday, March 25, he said the PCPIR project will give scope for the establishment of several foreign companies and it would naturally increase employment opportunities thereby preventing migration of the youth from the district to foreign nations.

Poojary said the PCPIR project, which is the brain child of Sonia Gandhi will be implemented in an area of 2494 kms in four districts and added land for the project will be acquired if people voluntarily agree to let their land. He further added that four times the market value of the land will be given as compensation and made it clear that the project can be implemented only if people agree to the same.

I did not induct Dinaker Shetty: “There was a folly during the Congress convention held on Monday. Neither me nor Oscar were aware of the induction of Dinaker Shetty. I tender an apology for the confusion. There is no scope in the Congress for those accused in cases of atrocities on women, “Poojary said.

State Health Minister UT Khader, MLA JR Lobo, Congress leaders Harikrishna Bantwal, TK Sudhir, Spokespersons Ivan D’Souza, Kallige Taranath Shetty and others were present.
