Pay and use public toilets inaugurated at State Bank

Mangaluru: Pay and use public toilet facilities were inaugurated at the service bus stand, State Bank on Thursday, September 22.

Aastha foundation has renovated the facility at a cost of Rs 6 lakh. There is bathing facility along with toilet as well.

Mayor Harinath who inaugurated the facility said that as many as eight toilets were inaugurated and the maintenance of the toilets was given to Aastha foundation. “We expect the toilet to be kept clean and in hygienic condition. Aastha foundation should maintain the toilet facility. People who use the facility should maintain cleanliness,” he said.

Health committee chairman of MCC, Kavitha Sanil speaking on the occasion said, “The toilets were not maintained form the past 10 years. After I took the responsibility as the chairperson of health committee, I have started renovation works of many toilet facilities in the city. I will finish the renovating work of 23 toilets in city before I complete my tenure”.
