Mangaluru: Considering the selfless service of police in containing the spread of COVID-19, founder of the Patla Foundation Trust, Patla Sathish Shetty offered tender coconuts, biscuits and water bottles to the law enforcement officers on Friday, April 10.
After the announcement of the lockdown, the district police have been working round-the-clock, surveilling the area and ensuring that the people adhere to the restrictions. However, their service has remained unnoticed by all.
Hence, Patla Sathish Shetty wanted to do something to repay the police, who are working in various areas across the district. HOPCOMS representative Ravi Shetty also helped Patla in this task.
Patla started disbursing these items to the police from Padubidri, from where he moved towards Mulki, Kinnigoli, Kateel, Bajpe, Kavoor, Mangaluru, Bantwal, Kalladka, Vittal and then the Karnataka-Kerala border. After disbursing these items to the police, Patla thanked them for their service.
It can be noted that Patla Sathish Shetty recently helped the now unemployed Yakshagana artistes across the district by disbursing grocery items through his Trust. He had decided to help them as they have been left without work after due to the lockdown. Being a Yakshagana playback singer himself, Patla Sathish Shetty knows very well how painful the life of a Yakshagana artiste can be.
