Bantwal: The locals of Rayi-Badanadi have urged the authorities to repair the road which omes under Bantwal-Moodbidri area as it is full of potholes.
The road connects the 800 year old famous Badanadi Nagabrahma Subramanyeshwara Temple. This month from November 26 to 28, the annual Mahotsav will be held, during which thousands of pilgrims visit the shrine. The locals have therefore demanded that the road to be repaired before the commencement of the Mahotsav, so that the pilgrims would not have to endure the bad road. Every year the locals repair the road through shramadana.

Last year one lady was injured when she fell from the rickshaw when she was heading to the temple.
12 years back the then minister B Ramanath Rai had extended the road on the occasion of renovation of the temple and Brahma Kalasha Utsav. The district panchayat member Late K Santosh Bhandary had laid a tar road and district panchayat member Nalini B Shetty had done temporary patch work.
Though there is a government primary health centre on this same road, locals have asked why the road has not been repaired.
The locals have even complained that the drainage system on this road is not properly managed by the concerned officials.
Hence the locals have urged MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and District incharge minister B Ramanath Rai to look into this matter and act as soon as possible.
