Passport of prime accused in Hyderabad blast has Mangalore address

Mangalore : Sources have revealed that the National Investigation Agency probing into last years Hyderabad blast case that killed 17 and injured 119, is now looking into the aspect of the passport of the prime accused in this case, with a fake residential address in Mangalore. It has been reliably learnt that the passport of Ibrahim, a suspected Indian Mujahedeen man, which was issued in Mangalore in the year 2010 has a residential address of Bendorewell in Mangalore.

This was divulged  by two persons namely Maqbul and Imran Khan who have already been arrested in connection with the case. It is learnt, the NIA team which has arrived in Mangalore is also inquiring the police constable who had verified the address of the passport applicant.

Though as per rules the police officer of the respective jurisdiction has to visit the address of the applicant to verify the same, generally a police constable is sent for the same.  Kadri Police Inspector  who was on duty in 2010 when the passport was issued to Ibrahim says he fails to understand how the passport with a fake address was verified.

On the other hand, Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar adds that the police are responsible for verification of address of a passport applicant. He says he has so far not received any information regarding the erring of any constable in this passport verification process of terror suspect Ibrahim.
