Passenger attempts to smuggle foreign currency, held

Mangaluru: The customs officers at Mangaluru International Airport seized foreign currency value of 9000 Saudi Arabian riyals, Qatar riyals worth 23000 and 350 Omani riyals, in various denominations, summing up to Rs.6,13,068 from a passenger travelling to Dubai, here on July 6.

According to officials, the passenger attempted to smuggle the foreign currency which was concealed in his checked-in baggage, out of India without valid money exchange documents.
