The committee – scheduled to hold its meeting this week – will ensure that the textbooks conform to the National Curriculum Framework 2005 of the NCERT.

Mr. Bhat was part of the protest which alleged the attempts of the BJP to saffronise textbooks. He also congratulated the State government for taking the right decision to revisit school textbooks.

He said that the CRST had protested against preparing textbooks on communally divisive lines. The books featured a lot of mythology, glorification of India history, suffering of Hindu rules under non-Hindu rules and stereotyped women, dalits and other minority groups, the press release issued by CRST states.
