Udupi: “The opposition tries to confuse the public with various issues concerning the district such as the arecanut issue and the widening of the Agumbe Ghat Road NH 169”, said Jayaprakash Hegde, MP Udupi-Chickamaglur Loksabha Constituency.

While addressing to the media Hegde explained that widening Agumbe Ghat Road will lead to better commerce in the state, which will expand the revenue from center which could be used to construct a strong route between Shimoga and Udupi.
The proposed NH will not require any further land accusation. The proposed project does not demand anymore widening especially in the city limit as the four lane highway is already made from Manipal to Parkala, Hegde added.
Moreover he asserted that the people should not panic to the political rumors, as regards to arecanut ban earlier and now NH 169. Opposition try to boost up these issues because of the upcoming election, if not this might not be highlighted, he said.
He also mentioned few important works done by him such as, street vendors’ rehabilitation programme, of which the street vendors’ will be given chance to trade with basic facilities, the Food Security Bill, Jan Lokpal Bill and private members bill – which demands voting right to primary and secondary school teachers and all should get a chance to vote wherever they stay, Right to Education were poor students will be given a chance to get educated, three train facility to the district and Mangalore university sub center at Thenganadiyoor government college, soon it will be shifted to the city limit.
Lastly he assured that 100 percent utilization of MP fund will be made and additional funds will be used maximally to uplift the district.
