Mangalore: Deputy Commissioner A.B Ibrahim flagged off the first city bus service from inside Shivarama Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama to the city on Saturday, September 20.

With this, the tourists can directly head to Pilikula, one of the major touristic destinations of Mangalore. Earlier, there were no direct buses to Pilikula. The tourists had to either walk a kilometer or depend on auto rickshaws.

The proposal comes after a similar move was made to connect Panambur Beach with city bus service. The district administration directed many buses moving towards Surathkal to proceed via the Beach last month.

RTO Afzal Ahmed Khan, Pilikula science centre director Prof. K.V Rao, Pilikula Geological park director Jayaprakash Bhandary, Pilikula bus owner’s association former president Jayaram were present.
