Mangaluru: Senior journalist and art critic A Ishwarayya died on Sunday, December 30.
Ishwarayya has to his credit of taking ‘Tushara’, Udayavani group’s literary magazine to the next level.
An artist himself, his love for music and dance catapulted him to being one of the most respected critics from the coastal region.
Having pursued English literature In MGM Udupi, Ishwarayya was also a very renowned photographer.
Born in Ananthapura in Kasargod, Ishwarayya joined Udayavani group at the age of 20 and since then remained in the organisation. His column in Tushara-‘Sarasa’, was well appreciated and went on to become one of the most sought after reads. The compilation of Sarasa was brought out in a book form too. Several recognitions and awards came his way for his valuable contributions to the field of literature and music.
He is survived by his son and daughter.
