Mangaluru: Suresh P Shirwadkar, has been appointed as Deputy Chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) by the Ministry of Shipping on Monday.

Shirwadkar hails from Ankola in Uttara Kannada District, joined the port sector as accounts officer at JNPT on July 1 1992. He has worked as FA&CAO at Mormugao Port Trust for eight years and served as the Chief Manager (Finance) at JNPT.

Shirwadkar is a graduate from St Aloysius College in Mangaluru and an associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
