
Mangaluru: The New Mangaluru Port Trust (NMPT) was given the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) award for professional management and contribution to state economy at the inauguration of the Karnataka Coastline Business Conclave that was organized at the TMA Pai Convention centre on Sunday March 21.
The award was handed over to Dr Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, chairman of NMPT by the Minister for medium and largescale industries Jagadish Shettar.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Venkata Ramana said, “Industrial infrastructure is complimentary to the development of industries. Karnataka industrial zone has its own prominence in the country. Economy of the country is developing every year and is in the forefront in the country also.”
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Ullas Kamath, president of FICCI Karnataka, M Venkatesh, managing director of MRPL, additional chief secretary of industrial department Gaurav Gupta, KCCI president Issac Vas, DC Dr K V Rajendra and chancellor of Nitte university Vinay Hegde were also present.
