Mangalore: Nesar Amin, a class three student at Yenepoya School in Mangalore, has made his school, his city as well as the district proud. He is the winner of two medals in the international Karate championship held at Colombo recently. Nesar won silver in Kumite and bronze in Kata category.
Dr CK Manjunath, Principal of Yenepoya School who addressed press persons in Mangalore, said Nesar participated in the event in the under-10 category. He said the Colombo event was participated by as many as 450 students from eight countries. India had sent 31 participants, while 13 Karatekars represented Karnataka. Three from DK district including Nesar had participated in the event, he informed.
Nesar is being trained by Nadeem and Sarfaraz. His parents Maithri and Ravindra Poojari and his Karate instructors were present at the press meet.
