Bantwal: The property dispute between the Badria Jumma Masjid and the Akkarangady Jumma Masjid at Nehru Nagar near Panemangalore has failed to end even after a land survey. The survey continued even on Monday July 7 as per the orders of the Upa Lokayukta. The survey ended in the evening but failed to solve the problem.

If the President of the Badria Jumma Masjid signed the survey report, the management of the Akkarangady Jumma Masjid refused to sign citing that the survey officials have not adhered to the written orders of the Upa Lokayukta to demarcate the boundaries of the 1.49 acre land.
The Upa Lokayukta Subhash B Adi had earlier directed the Tahsildar and the Survey Department to measure the land belonging to the Akkarangady Jumma Masjid in the vicinity of the Badria Jumma Masjid , to prepare a sketch and also to vacate the encroached land.
V Prasanna Kumar, Joint Director of the Department of Land Records had ordered to submit a report after a survey and also warned of disciplinary action if there was any delay. Accordingly, survey had commenced on Saturday amid police protection.
The Akkarangady Jumma Masjid office bearers said the survey officials have marked the boundaries of the 2 acre cemetery land but had not marked the boundaries of the 1.49 acre land in Survey Number 50/1 AP3 in Narikombu village. This is a violation of the orders of the Upa Lokayukta and the Joint Director of Land Records and therefore we have not signed the report, they have said. They have also warned of a legal recourse against surveyor Anil and supervisor Ashok.
Over 20 police personnel led by Bantwal Town Police Station SI Nandakumar had maintained strict vigil during the survey.
