Navachethan Retirement Township to be inaugurated on Jan 26

Mangaluru: The Navachethan Retirement Township located at Santhigod in Puttur taluk will be launched on Wednesday, January 26.

Ramakrishna Matt President Swami Jithakamanandaji will inaugurate the Township and former secretary of India V V Bhat will preside over the programme. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Puttur MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat President Meenakshi Shanthigod among others will also participate in the programme.

Informing about the Township, Managing director and chairman of the township Dr. Shama Bhat on Monday, January 21 said, “It is a retirement township for the elderly people where residents are treated with care, love and affection. This will provide a light to the evening of life. Our main aim is to promote quality of life and to make it possible for the elderly to be healthy, happy, spiritual and social. Navachethan is nestled amidst soft sloping hills of Puttur of Dakshina Kannada district, just 50 kms from Mangaluru city. The site measuring 10 acres is just 7 km away from Puttur Railway Station. Navachethan can accommodate around 200 families.

Navachethan offers special services to the residents like medical care, dining, cuisine, enrichment, nursing care, ambulance service, transport service etc and also it will have a provision for super bazar, provision for a short stay (guest houses), walking track, golf cart etc.”

Shama Bhat also informed that a conference on ‘life after retirement’ will be organised at Hotel Ocean Pearl on January 24 where resource persons will deliver a lecture on different topics like health maintenance tips for senior citizens, legal and financial planning for the elderly people among others.
