Kasaragod: National award winning teacher and Yakshagana artist Uppala Krishna Master passed away at a private hospital here on Wednesday, August 31. He was 82.
He was conferred National best teacher award in 1994, Kerala best teacher state award in 1987-88, Karnataka Janapada Academy award in 1996-97 and several other honours to his credit.

Being a teacher he had excellent skills as an Yakshagana artist and was a mentor for hundreds of artists. He was born in 1938. He is survived by wife and three children.
