Mangalore : Senior BJP leader and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Mangalore on May 2 and will participate in an election rally of the BJP scheduled to be held at Nehru Maidan that day.
Informing this to reporters here at the District BJP office, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said Modi will participate in the meeting which will begin at 10 am. Party men from all the eight constituencies will take part, he informed.
Reacting to the challenge posed by some Congress leaders asking the BJP Leaders to bring Modi to Mangalore if they can, Nalin said they have taken the challenge positively. Modi has already visited Bangalore and he will now visit Belgaum and Mangalore. At the same time, he said Modi was visiting the city voluntarily.
He said the door-to-door election campaign by the BJP has revealed that the voters are in favour of the BJP. He said the achievements and progress works initiated by the state government are a blessing for the BJP.
To a question, he said the ULB election result cannot be linked to the results of the upcoming assembly election.
BJP District in-charge Pratap Sinha Nayak, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, District Vice President Nitin Kumar, Mangalore South unit President Srikar Prabhu and spokesperson Rajagopal Rai were present.
